Mo8-L4a: How is Energy Transformed and Transferred?

                                                                                       Club Does

Any time there is an energy transformation or energy
transfer, some energy is transformed into thermal
        energy.

Because energy transformations are inef cient, some of the chemical energy transforms to thermal energy
and sound energy that are released to the environment.

An open system is a system that exchanges matter A closed system is a system that does not exchange
or energy with the environment. matter or energy with the environment.

In reality, there are no closed systems because every physical system transfers some energy to or from its
        environment.
                                                   SUMMARY
How is Energy Transformed and Transferred?
Energy can be transferred and transformed, but it cannot be created or destroyed.

Systems are classif ed as open systems or closed systems based on their interactions with their
                                                  environment.
