                     = 49 + 9  or   13
                                                            A. yes
                                                            B. no
                  DV =  (–5 –(1))² + (–1 – (–2))²           C. cannot be determined

                     = 16 + 1  or   17
                                                              Answer
                 VW =  (–1 –(-7))² + (–2 – (–4))²

                     = 36 + 4  or   40

                 ML =  (4 – 1)² + (–7 – (–5))²

                     = 9 + 4   or   13

                  LP =  (1 – 2)² + (–5 – (–1))²

                     = 1 + 16  or   17

                 PM =  (2 – 4)² + (–1 – (–7))²

                     = 4 + 36  or   40

                        WD = ML, DV = LP, and VW = PM.
                           By definition of congruent

                           segments are congruent.
                       Therefore, ΔWDV ≅ ΔMLP by SSS
